Uganda has one of the highest birth rates in the world.
Today, there are about 20 million children in the country – around 40% of the entire population population of Uganda.
About 50% of children grow up in poverty. They lack the most basic things — daily food and access to school.
Without help, many of these children have almost no chance for a safe and dignified future.
  • Orphanhood.
Many very young mothers are unable to care for their babies and abandon them. Around 3 million children have lost one or both parents due to poverty, disease and armed conflict.

  • Inequality.
Access to food, healthcare and education depends almost entirely on the family’s income and social status.

  • Child labour.
Many children start working from the age of five to help their families survive.

  • Low standard of living.
A weak economy, unstable social systems and past conflicts mean that millions of families live below the poverty line.
Why children in Uganda need help
We exist so that children in Uganda can simply live – and have hope.
In 2026, we opened a Children’s Rescue Center and a primary “School Under the Sky” in Uganda.

This is a safe place for children who are living in survival conditions. Here, they receive food, shelter, and most importantly, safety.
